Lesson planned based on book: Chrysanthemum

  

Learning Goal: To create the first letter of our names using natural materials (beans).

Math Learning Goal: To create a pattern or to recognize less/more (e.g. I used more of the brown beans and less of the white beans etc…)

Success Criteria (I can…):

ü      Write my name on the bottom of the page (with the help of my teacher if needed)

ü      Count how many letters I have in my name

ü      Create the first letter of my name using white and brown beans

ü      Say what the pattern I used to create my letter (brown, white, white)

ü      Say what I used more of (brown beans or white beans)

ü      Recognize the first letter of my name and all of the letters in my name (with the help of my teacher if needed)
